Frequently Asked Questions

We know you’ve got lots of questions, and we’ve got answers. Here are the top 6 questions we get asked:

What types of accidents can I claim for?

The most common type of cases we deal with are road traffic accident claims. However legal fees are sometimes overcharged in other types of claims too, for example, accidents at work. Via our online form, you can submit details of the following types of accident claims: road traffic accident, accident at work, medical negligence and slip, trip or fall cases. We’ll happily look over your details and let you know if we can help or not.

What do I need to do?

Send us the details of your previous claim via this website. If we think you may have been overcharged we’ll contact you by phone to take some further details. We are ethical solicitors who charge fairly. If we can’t help, you’ll get an email from us to let you know and we won’t keep your personal data on file. Simple as that.

How long does it take to get a refund?

Every case is different so we can’t say for definite, but the quickest cases take just a few weeks.

What if I don’t have my paperwork?

Sometimes paperwork is needed and sometimes we can go ahead without it. It all depends on your own personal case so just get in touch and we’ll advise.

What if my accident took place before April 2013?

The important date is when you signed up with your solicitor not the date of the accident. If you signed up with your solicitor before 1st April 2013 then it’s highly unlikely you would have been charged unfairly so we wouldn’t be able to help, sorry. This is because the law changed on that date and that’s when many solicitors started taking too much from their clients’ compensation.

How much will this cost me?

We’re dedicated to getting you the compensation you deserve, so it won’t cost you anything to find out if you’re eligible for our help at Get My Fee Back. If we discover you are potentially due a refund, we will charge a fee for the service provided. The exact amount depends on your own personal case and we will agree this with you. You won’t pay a thing to find out if you are not eligible for a potential refund.
